Team Baldwin (James and Jack) Take On the Savannah Half Marathon for CURE

Let the countdown for Savannah begin!

On November 2, 2019 two of our team members, James Knight and Jack Baldwin, will be running (at least some of the way) in the Savannah Half Marathon. For Jack, this will be his second time running the Savannah Half Marathon and will add to a resume that includes 4 full marathons and 6 half marathons that span his 5 year amateur running career.

James “The Thunder From Down Under” Knight will be running in his first ever long distance road race. In addition to a lot of training and perseverance he’ll have the rest of the Baldwin Architectural Group team (Christopher, Rich, and Katie) on hand to cheer him and Jack on as they endure the rigors of 13.1 miles.

But there’s also a very important reason we chose to participate in this event. We believe the Savannah Half Marathon provides us with a unique platform to raise awareness and funds for our favorite charity CURE Childhood Cancer.

After careful consideration, we chose to partner with CURE not only because of their meaningful work on behalf of the children and families affected by this disease but also because of the direct impact this organization has had on Katie Kennedy’s own family.

This summer, Katie shared the story of how her family became involved with CURE. When her younger brother was diagnosed with aplastic anemia the summer before entering college, CURE became an invaluable resource for the Kennedy family. Since that time, Katie‚Äôs parents have dedicated their time and energy toward getting nearly 2,000 people swabbed and added to the bone marrow registry database and assisting CURE in awareness and fundraising efforts.

Needless to say, when we heard about how this organization directly impacted one of our very own team members, we jumped at the chance to find ways to support the cause. CURE is also an incredibly reputable and highly rated organization, with approximately 87% of funds raised each year going directly to research, fellowship programs, and patient and family support. The fact that they are a local Atlanta-based organization makes it all the easier to get enthusiastic about this incredible cause.

If you’re moved to donate or support CURE you can do so any time here. We will have a dedicated Baldwin Architectural Group for CURE page going live in the very near future as well.

In the meantime, help us cheer on James and Jack as they complete their training and get the word out about the cause we will be running for this November!
